Wellesley Mitten Tree to warm up those in need

Gan Elohim Mitten Tree

Students at Temple Beth Elohim‘s nursery school, Gan Elohim, recently bought 100 new pairs of mittens as well asĀ  hats and scarves to display in the Wellesley school’s hallway as a Mitten Tree.

The tree served to help the kids think about what it might be like not to have warm clothes during winter and served as a “mitzvah” (act of human kindness) to help those less fortunate.

The tree has now been dismantled and the clothes brought to Cradles to Crayons, which will distribute them to children all over Massachusetts.
