Dimitri Long, the so-called U30 Bandit who pleaded guilty in November to a series of armed bank robberies in 2009 that included the Bank of America on Washington Street at Abbott Road in Wellesley, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, plus 5 years of supervised parole. He needs to pay $49K in restitution to boot. (More from the FBI.)
Long, who earned the U30 nickname because robberies took less than 30 seconds,  and an accomplice were captured by members of the Wellesley Police Department, FBI, and other local law enforcement as they attempted to flee the scene of a bank robbery in Needham in 2009.
