No more Pink Slime for Wellesley kids

Finally someone comes up with a food with a name ensuring even the most finicky kid will eat it, and wouldn’t you know it turns out to be maybe a bit on the icky side. The Wellesley School Committee and the School Administration, in consultation with Chartwells, have decided to remove all food products containing Lean Finely Textured Beef (aka “Pink Slime“) effective immediately.  Menu items for the month of April have been revised.  Stop & Shop and other retailers have recently ditched products containing Pink Slime of late as well.

Meanwhile Wellesley children will need to settle for getting their slimy fill from toys such as Thinking Putty, which we understand some teachers have banned from classrooms of late.
