Wellesley High School’s spring play, “The House of Blue Leaves,” is being presented in the new drama room at WHS, which is very much like a black box theater.

“The House of Blue Leaves,” first performed off-Broadway in 1971 and then again in a 2011 revival starring Ben Stiller, Edie Falco, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, will be Wellesley High School’s inaugural spring play in the new WHS drama classroom’s theater.
Centered on the Pope’s 1965 visit to New York City, the black comedy features nuns, a political bombing, a GI headed for Vietnam, a zookeeper who dreams of making it big in Hollywood, his schizophrenic stay-at-home wife Bananas, and his vivacious mistress Bunny. Come see this crazy mix of comedy and tragedy, truth and absurdity.
Performances are Thursday-Saturday, May 3-5 at 4pm and 7:30pm each day in WHS Room 165. Tickets are available at the door: $10 adults, $5 students (K-12), free for senior citizens 65+.
