Spreading the word on McCullough commencement speech

Our posting of Wellesley High School English teacher David McCullough, Jr.’s graduation speech has really caught fire. Not only has it been picked up by everyone from CBS This Morning to the Daily Beast to Atlanta Journal-Constitution to the Washington Post to the Boston Globe to Huffington Post to the New York Daily News to a religious blog, but even Yahoo! Sports, which zeroed in on McCullough’s slight of the Baltimore Orioles (“Boston-area high school commencement speech slams first-place Baltimore Orioles“).

Some sites also have been citing a copy of the speech posted on the Boston Herald, which apparently stumbled across the speech a couple of days after our initial post.

Brilliant, just brilliant…best commencement address I’ve ever read. Wellesley is truly fortunate to have a teacher such as Mr. McCullough.
