St. James property sale focus of Wellesley Special Town Meeting on Wednesday

Special Town Meeting takes place Wednesday at Wellesley High School at 730pm as the town seeks approval for its purchase of the St. James the Great property. Town officials have outlined a plan to use the property for recreational facilities,  including a swimming pool and ice skating rink. The meeting will be shown live on Wellesley cable.

Meanwhile, the fate of another shuttered Catholic church not far away: Sacred Heart Church just over the Wellesley line in South Natick on Rte. 16 has really begun to crumble some 7 years after its closing by the Archdiocese of Boston.
