Wellesley Little League crowns spring baseball/softball champs

On Monday night, the Wellesley Little League Astros completed a near-perfect season with a 4-2 win over the Padres to take the National League title at Reidy Field. The league includes third-sixth graders.

The Red Sox nipped the Pirates at Reidy the same night, thanks in part to what we hear was a great outfield catch, to take the American League title.

The Angels won the senior baseball league championship Sunday, overcoming a 7-run deficit to prevail 10-8 against the Orioles at Fiske. The league includes 7-9th graders.
