Beavers getting busy at Wellesley’s Longfellow Pond

Beaver damage at Longfellow PondBeavers have been making their presence known at Longfellow Pond in Wellesley. Town park officials have placed wire mesh around surviving trees to try to save them from the animals’ teeth.

The town hired an outfit to remove beavers from the Wellesley RDF and surrounding neighborhood late last year/earlier this year.

Beavers are most prevalent in town at Babson College. Its mascot is called Biz E. Beaver.
