Soft news: Wellesley resident publishes “Stuffed Animals” book

stuffed animalsWellesley resident Abby Glassenberg, a self-described plush pattern designer, craft book author and sewing teacher, has published her second book, a how-to for creating “heirloom quality” stuffed animals.

The book, titled “Stuffed Animals: From Concept to Construction,” features 16 projects and 52 lessons, and is the book Glassenberg says she wishes had been around when she first started sewing “softies.” It’s available now for pre-order via Amazon and is officially available on May 7.

If you’ve always wanted to “draw gussets and darts, use joints, add pockets and zippered mouths,” then this is definitely the book for you.

This isn’t Glassenberg’s first book, as she published another called “The Artful Bird” in 2011. Glassenberg has also been blogging about her craft for years on “While She Naps.”

Glassenberg is a mover and shaker on crafting scene, and has been heavily involved in the big public weaving project coming to Wellesley next month that we mentioned earlier this week.

Oh, and did you know books have trailers these days? It’s true, and here’s Abby’s:
