The Stamp Out Hunger Postal Food Drive takes place this Saturday, May 11, with local postal workers collecting items from residents to deliver to the Wellesley Food Pantry at Wellesley Hills Congregational Church.
If you’re willing to take part, put items near your mailbox by 9am on Saturday.
The food drive is collecting non-perishable items that have not passed their expiration dates. All types of food are taken, but items of particular need right now: canned meats/fish, meals in a can, canned vegetables, ketchup, coffee, oil, cereal, peanut butter, jelly and mayonnaise. Non-food items like paper towels and laundry detergent are also collected.
Lawn signs like the one shown here are being distributed throughout town in high-traffic areas (contact food drive organizers below if you’d like to inquire about hosting a sign).
