Wellesley Police: 10 unlocked vehicles broken into overnight

From Wellesley Police Department:

Ten unlocked vehicles were broken into either in the late evening hours of September 14 or the early morning hours of September 15.  Streets that have been reported where the break ins took place include Wellesley Ave, Swarthmore Road, Southgate, and Wilson.

Small items, change, money, and electronic devices were taken during the thefts.  Some victims reported car doors being left open after being gone through.  In all of the cases, the doors to the vehicles were unlocked.  In one case, there were three vehicles parked together.  Two had unlocked doors and were broken into.  The third was locked and not broken into.

In the past, suspects have simply walked from one driveway to another across the front lawns of homes, trying doors until they find one that is unlocked.  These breaks typically happen in the later evening or early morning hours.
