Classic Movie Night coming to Wellesley

I know where I'm goingWhile Wellesley hasn’t had a formal movie theatre since the late 1980s, a movement is afoot to return at least some old-fashioned movie magic to town.

A new volunteer-run outfit dubbed ClassicFlicks.org is bringing a free series of classic movies to Wellesley Free Library, with an introduction to the movies, actors and cinematography by Newton’s Robert Gerst, a professor at the Massachusetts College of  Art and Design and author of Make Film History: Rewrite, Recut, and Reshoot the World’s Greatest Films. Light refreshments will be served and optional discussion will be held after the movie.

The monthly movie program kicks off on Tuesday, March 25th at 6pm with what ClassicFlicks.org describes as the “Art House” classic I Know Where I’m Going!, a 1945 romance film by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. It stars Wendy Hiller and Roger Livesey, and features Pamela Brown, Finlay Currie and Petula Clark.
