Websites you’ve probably never heard of confirm Wellesley is nice, safe

Not that we really needed them to tell us this, but couple of upstart websites have doled out data this month that shows Wellesley is a nice place to own a home and is pretty safe.

One report from a personal finance website looked at 77 Massachusetts communities with more than 15,000 residents to find out which were best for home ownership based on housing availability, affordability and community growth. Wellesley ranked #19, sandwiched between Somerset and Milford. According to the stats, 83% of residents in Wellesley own their homes and have median monthly homeowner costs of about $3,800.

A second report from a real estate site found Wellesley to be the 24th safest community in the country, with Franklin MA ranking at #1. The rankings are based on the number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
