Young Wellesley runners get taste of Boston Marathon finish

Some of the fastest Wellesley Middle School and High School runners earned the honor of competing in Saturday’s Invitational Mile events, which involve 4 male and 4 female athletes from each of the 8 towns and cities along the Boston Marathon course. The mile race for high school students and the 1 kilometer race for middle school students take place in downtown Boston on the streets surrounding the marathon finish line.

Wellesley High’s Ben Griswold and Chris Ulian combined to finish second in the team competition. The Wellesley Middle School boys’ team finished third, and 8th grader Olivia Vernon finished third among girls in her race.
