From the Wellesley Conservation Council:
The Wellesley Conservation Council and the Friends and Neighbors of Cold Spring Brook Sanctuary sponsored Things are Picking Up in Wellesley on Saturday, April 9th. Debris and many bags of trash were collected by members, friends, and neighbors and we thank Barbara and Jim Kaufman for organizing the initiative and Mike Quinn and the DPW for hauling the trash away. The sanctuary provides a natural buffer between Route 9 and the Sprague school. The Wellesley Conservation Council purchased the two-acre natural site in 1982 and placed it under a conservation restriction, protecting the brook and open space. The Council protects natural space in Wellesley through direct ownership or easements on 14 sanctuaries.
