Wellesley Choral Society presents its Spring Concert –French Choral Music of Gabriel Fauré and César Franck — on Sunday, May 15 at 2 pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 79 Denton Road.
The major work to be performed is the Solemn Mass in A Major for Three Voices, op. 12, by César Franck (1822 – 1890). Several works by Gabriel Fauré (1845 – 1924) round out the program, among them his Ecce Fidelis Servus, op. 54, the Messe Basse for women’s voices and Ave Maria for male voices. His famous Cantique de Jean Racine, op. 11, is also included. The chorus will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble of piano, cello, harp and double bass.
The Wellesley Choral Society has donated a limited number of free tickets to Wellesley senior citizens who may pick them up at the Council on Aging, 219 Washington St., Wellesley. Please call 781-235-3561 first to make sure tickets are still available.
St. Andrew’s Church is handicapped accessible and there is ample free parking on two lots very close to the church.
