Wellesley’s Anne London and friend Deborah Smith have started a program called “Steer Straight” that involves slapping bumper stickers on teen’s cars that read “How’s my TEEN driving?” and include a toll-free number for other drivers to call to report any issues. The program’s stated goal is to “drive teens to THINK behind the wheel.” Joining the program starts at about $100 a year. We wonder how many calls the program gets from people cut off by parents driving those cars, or if anyone calls to give compliments, not just complaints. Here’s a Boston Globe report on the program.
