The town is still looking for a replacement for Fire Chief Kevin Rooney, who in May announced he was looking to retire this past September. From the Wellesley job board:

The Town of Wellesley, Massachusetts (pop. 27,000) is seeking to fill the position of Fire Chief which is becoming vacant after the retirement of the incumbent after eight years of service as Chief of the Department.  The Department consists of 57 fulltime uniformed employees and an operating budget of $4.1 million.  Appointed by a five member Board of Selectmen, the Fire Chief serves as the community’s Emergency Manager.  Minimum qualifications include:  Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science, Business or Public Administration, Master’s preferred; completion of the Massachusetts Chief Fire Officer Management Program, ten years of fire suppression experience as a fulltime uniformed member in an organized fire department and at least four years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and skill within the following critical areas:  budgeting, crafting collaborative interagency relationships, labor management relations in a unionized environment, pacing change, fireground management, incident command and emergency management.  Graduates of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program are encouraged to apply.  Hiring range is $105,000 — $115,000, depending upon qualifications.  Full compensation package negotiable.  Send cover letter and resume to Ms. Gail Schillinger, Administrative Assistant, Municipal Resources Incorporated, 120 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith, NH 03253.  Electronic submissions in PDF format sent to recruitment@municipalresources.com preferred.  Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
