Next up: A new senior center?

January 9, 2009 by Bob Brown Leave a Comment

The Townsman has the latest on plans for a possible new standalone senior center on Washington Street where the old American Legion building stands. A donation left to the town a few years back to put toward such a center won’t cover all the costs of such a project, so taxpayers will once again want to find out more about this. The head of the town’s Council on Aging is in favor of a standalone center, noting that the council currently needs to share space with the Wellesley Community Center. After all, it’s tough to get a four-person Wii tennis game going in cramped confines.

Public meetings are being held Jan. 14 at 2pm at Wellesley Free Library and 7pm at Town Hall.
