Whirlwind tour of new yoga studio, gelato shop

You might enter A Little Yoga determined to achieve the sublime yoga goals of growth and transformation, but be forewarned that some cool t-shirts and other gear might distract you from your journey at this new heated power vinyasa studio and boutique at 180 Linden St., 2nd floor. The studio and store opened Monday, with a schedule of hothouse yoga. Be prepared for 90-degree heat with a relative humidity of 50% . Practitioners say that these conditions allow yogis (anyone who is practicing yoga) to stretch deeply while preventing injury. Some kinks with the humidity system were being worked out on the day Mrs. Swellesley ventured in, but a repairman entered as the yogis exited class, no doubt ready to realign the balance and flow. Namaste.

2009gelato

After yoga, might you deserve a treat? The Gelato Cafe at 180 Linden St. is serving gelato, chocolates imported from the South End that are suitable for Valentine’s Day gifts, and coffee, espresso and hot chocolate. An evening drive-by revealed a storefront with windows so clean a confused deer could surely crash through them, and a lone employee in an empty, pristine store ready to serve. DB
