Wellesley College has made an inspired choice for its June 5 commencement speaker: Award-winning CBS News correspondent Kimberly Dozier, a 1987 Wellesley College graduate.
Dozier has done most of her reporting from the Middle East since 2003, and was nearly killed in a Baghdad car bombing that did claim the lives of several others, including a soundman and cameraman. Dozier wrote a memoir called Breathing the Fire, Fighting to Report-and Survive-the War in Iraq that recounts her recovery from the 2006 Memorial Day bombing. She now covers the White House and Pentagon as part of her correspondent duties.
