Ok, have to confess I thought this E.A. Davis celebration of the Lilly Pulitzer 50th Anniversary Jubilee had something to do with journalism’s Pulitzer Prize at first. But as I’ve been told that everyone other than me knows, Lilly Pulitzer makes a famous line of colorful clothes (though indeed, the company’s creator was part of the publishing Pulitzer family, so there).
Anyway, E.A. Davis is doing its celebration on Saturday March 7, and big spenders will be eligible to win a Golden Ticket, which could nab you a fabulous prize, such as a trip to Pulitzer headquarters in King of Prussia, PA. (Not exactly Willy Wonka Golden Ticket stuff, but hey). Neighboring business Blue Ginger has kindly offered up its banquet space to help display a retrospective of the Pulitzer story from noon to 3pm. Donations will be collected for the Timothy O’Connell Fund.
Speaking of E.A. Davis, noticed they are among the first advertisers to jump on board the Globe’s new Your Wellesley website. Which once again brings this question to mind: Should we sell out and start grabbing a piece of the advertising pie?
