WellesleyWeston Magazine‘s summer edition is online and includes a good interview with Wellesley chief Terrence Cunningham and Weston chief Steven Shaw. Cunningham laments the ability for most members of the force to live in town (“When I was born here, literally 98 percent of the department’s 65 officers lived in town; I went back and checked the records. Now we have 43 officers, and only three of us can afford to live here.“) and weighs in on issues such as teen suicide, the huge number of car crashes the department handles and the prospect of domestic violence increasing in town as the economic stress takes its toll.
Also Wellesley related in the issue are stories on families who adopt children from other countries, Wellesley’s historical role in summer theatre and the annual visit to Wellesley by Circus Smirkus.
