From Wellesley’s school superintendent:
Dear Wellesley Public School Parents, Guardians and Staff,
I was informed this morning by the Wellesley Health Department that there are two additional confirmed cases of H1N1 affecting a single elementary student at each of the Fiske and Hardy elementary schools. To date there have been 7 confirmed cases in the Town of Wellesley. Four cases, one at Wellesley College and three at Sprague Elementary School have all recovered. The one at Dana Hall plus the two I am reporting to you in this letter bringing the total to 7.
As stated in my letter to you yesterday, we continue to monitor daily attendance records at each of our schools.
I do appreciate the news of H1N1 and school closures in the Boston area can cause anxiety among the school community. Attached are two documents from the State Department of Public Health related to stress and how to talk to one’s child about H1N1 that you may find helpful.
It is my hope we will be maintaining regular school operations without interruption through end of school year.
At the same time we remain alert to possible changing conditions. I will do my best to keep you informed.
Sincerely,
Bella T. Wong
Superintendent of Schools
