A couple that has been blogging for about a year as GastroSpeakBoston earlier this week outted themselves to us as Wellesleyites. Their blog boasts the tagline: “Honest thoughts on the Boston dining scene & general musings about food, wine and travel from young foodies.” Naturally enough, the pair has eaten out quite a few times in Wellesley and has reviewed Alta Strada, the Linden Store and Cafe Mangal, among others.
We swapped emails with the bloggers, who bought a house and moved to Wellesley 2 years ago, to get a little more insight into their efforts. They keep their identities secret on the blog so as to prevent themselves from getting any special treatment at restaurants. We asked about their favorite Wellesley dining experience and got this response: “Hmmm…favorite Wellesley dining experience…in all honestly I think we’re still seeking it. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve had some great meals at local spots, but some of our favorites have actually been in our bordering towns of Newton and Needham. We do enjoy the Cottage for its fresh, simple and affordable options and Alta Strada for great, upscale Italian without having to head into town.” On their wish list: a casual pub in town where they could go to catch a game on TV and grab a good beer on tap.
Are there more Wellesley bloggers lurking out there (we have some listed here)? If so, let us know.
