EPA's pay day comes years after Morses Pond cleanup

The Environmental Protection Agency has been awarded $2.9 million plus interest from an insurance company that inherited a lawsuit filed against Boston & Albany Railroad in 2005 related to contamination of the area between Morses Pond and Paintshop Pond in Wellesley. The EPA removed 3,000 tons (!) of chromium-contaminated soil and sediment between 2000 and 2002.
