Boston Magazine takes a harsh look at the state’s alimony laws and one man’s efforts to reform them. The article says one big obstacle to reform is State Sen. Cynthia Stone Creem, who represents Wellesley, Newton and Brookline. A handful of readers on the Boston Magazine website say Creem has a conflict of interest in that she co-chairs the judiciary committee (“and, as such, the person in position to stop Massachusetts Alimony Reform’s efforts in their tracks,” the article reads) but off the hill is “a family lawyer who argues alimony cases,” according to the article.
