The Wellesley Metrowest B-Ball League will be holding tryouts this weekend for B teams (Wellesley already has “A” teams) that will compete in the MetroWest Basketball League, which is made up of travel teams from 30+ communities in the suburban Boston area. The tryout schedule is outlined below; all tryouts will be held at Wellesley Middle School.
Girls:
Grades 5 & 6: Saturday, Oct. 17 6pm – 7:45pm, Upper Gym
Grade 7: Saturday, Oct. 17, 4pm – 5:45pm, Lower Gym
Grade 8: Sunday, Oct. 18, 12pm – 1:45pm, Lower Gym
Boys:
Grade 6: Saturday, Oct. 17, 4pm – 5:45pm, Upper Gym
Grade 7: Saturday, Oct. 17, 6pm – 7:45pm, Lower Gym
Grade 8: Sunday, Oct. 18, 12pm – 1:45pm, Upper Gym
For those interested in trying out: if you have not already done so, please send an email to wellesley.metrowest.bball@gmail.com indicating your child’s name, gender and grade. The program is asking that each player pay a $10 tryout fee, in cash or check (payable to “Wellesley Metrowest B-Ball”), to help offset the costs. More info: www.wellesleymetrowestbball.org

Meanwhile, the local Wellesley-Framingham CYO Basketball programs at St. John and St. Paul (membership at these churches is not a requirement) have opened registration as well for the winter league. Games are played on Saturdays.
