Officer Matt Farwell, who has been on the Wellesley police force for less than a year, has been recognized by the chief of police with a letter of commendation for saving the life of a 61-year-old Wellesley man who had stopped breathing and lost his pulse earlier this month while at Boston Sports Club. Farwell determined the man needed his heart restarted and put an automatic external defibrillator to use to revive the cardiac arrest victim. A firefighter performed CPR. It now appears the man will recover.
