The Wellesley Police Department, Wellesley Fire Department and Wellesley Department of Public Works, along with OSHA, descended on the scene of a 30,000-pound excavation machine that overturned on a ledge overlooking the Wellesley Hills train station. The operator of the machine was uninjured, though the machine was very damaged. The trick now will figuring out how to remove the machine safely. Town safety officials will collaborate with railroad operator CSX to figure that out. The accident took place at a location where new homes are being built.
