Wellesley swine flu clinics on indefinite hold

The state has issued an update on H1N1 flu vaccines and the word is that delays in production mean planned clinics by Wellesley and other communities need to be put on hold. This despite the fact that parents in Wellesley were generally enthusiastic about a plan by the town’s health department and school department to offer free vaccines at Wellesley High and Middle School.

Mary Suresh, the town’s director of public health,  told us last week that her group is frustrated but that things are beyond their control and in the meantime they are trying to keep educating residents about steps they can take to limit their exposure to the flu.

Suresh told the Townsman this week that the state has said public H1N1 clinics should be postponed indefinitely. http://www.wickedlocal.com/wellesley/news/lifestyle/health/x1136014135/Wellesley-postponing-H1N1-flu-clinics

The state’s flu finder web page does list three upcoming clinics in Wellesley (Beacon Hill Athletic Club, Roche Bros. and Eaton Apothecary) offering seasonal flu vaccine.
