Wellesley voters in the 3 precincts eligible to vote in Tuesday’s election to fill Scott Brown’s state senate seat gave the edge to Democrat Peter Smulowitz, but Republican Richard Ross won the overall election, which also involved Needham, Millis and other Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex county communities. Ross looks to have taken about 62% of the overall vote.
Wellesley voters were in favor of Smulowitz 733-585, according to preliminary results based on 23% of eligible voters going to the polls.
