You know how Red Sox games now last longer than a trip down to Cape Cod during rush hour, what with all the pitching changes, players’ fussing with their gear and all the rest? Well, Wellesley Little League hasn’t gotten to that point, but the league has moved its Reidy Field game starts back from 5:30pm to 5pm because games have begun to go longer now that players are using aluminum bats and sending fielders all over the diamond to fetch their hits. This change is designed to allow the later games, starting at 7:30, to get going on time, and to get kids — and parents– to bed at a reasonable hour.
