You rarely so see many kids — including many under the age of 10 — running a 5K road race as you do with the Schofield 5K, held Sunday under muggy skies.
The winners weren’t from the elementary school set, but are pretty young: 19-year-old Billy Littlefield won this year’s Schofield 5K in 17:32, a 5:39 per mile pace (Bib No. 78 above, bright yellow shoes). Wellesley High’s Hannah Smith, who recently came out on top among females at the Savage 5K in Wellesley, was the top female finisher at Schofield as well at 20:51. Full results here.
Meanwhile, the school’s fun fair kept those who ran and those who didn’t entertained.
