As of 10am Friday, the Wellesley Water Department lifted the outside watering ban imposed on Wednesday after a water main broke on Rte. 9 (Some residents beat the rush.).
The main break resulted in leaking of a third of a million gallons of water within the half hour before the Water Division isolated the leak, according to the town.
A water “watch” is still in effect, meaning residents are encouraged to voluntarily limit outdoor watering.
