If you’re really hard up for a Halloween costume and are staying local, a few suggestions for Wellesley-themed ideas:
Ghost of J.S. Waterman & Sons: The old funeral home at 592 Washington St. fled Wellesley earlier this year, but ghosts of former “customers” are said to be roaming around town hunting down the people who failed to attend their wakes and funerals.
Waban arches: Police and others in town have been frustrated trying to keep the Waban Arches graffiti-free. But no one says you can’t spray paint yourself, or find a fashionable graffiti-themed outfit like the one shown here.
Sandwich board: Wellesley ditched most sandwich boards earlier this year because they were becoming too much of a distraction at several intersections.
Whole Foods/Tian Fu: Go as a combination of Tian Fu (which hopes to re-open elsewhere nearby) and Whole Foods, commemorating the back and forth between the longtime Chinese restaurant and the healthy foods supermarket.
Disclaimer: We’re not touching the Wellesley Middle School mosque brouhaha here, other than to say, proceed at your own risk if you go down that avenue.
