Wellesley’s Board of Selectman got a pitch earlier this week (as the Globe reports) from an ad hoc committee regarding a plan to put a soccer field, skating rink and swimming pool at the St. James the Great church and surrounding property along Rte. 9 in Wellesley. Here’s a look at the plan.
Overall, the project could cost $13M-plus to pull off. Of course, the roughly 8 acres of property aren’t the town’s to use quite yet. The St. James parishioners continue to fight for the property despite the Vatican shooting them down earlier this year.
