The Boston Globe reports that parishioners trying to keep St. James the Great Church alive have hand-delivered a plea to Pope Benedict XVI.
Parishioners, who have been holding a vigil that will reach 6 years this weekend, have repeatedly been shot down in their efforts by everyone from the Vatican to the Archdiocese of Boston.
Meanwhile, Wellesley town officials are prepping ideas for what to do with the property if it indeed is not saved as a church. One likely scenario would be using the space for athletic facilities. Selectmen are meeting today at 130 at Town Hall to further discuss this.
