Wellesley election results mostly in sync with statewide ones

As Wellesley went, so went Massachusetts for the most part, voting to give Gov. Deval Patrick and U.S. Rep. Barney Frank another shot and selecting Steven Grossman for Treasurer.

One exception was that Wellesley chose Mary Connaughton for auditor (Democrat Suzanne Bump won).

Alison Hanlon Peisch retained her state representative seat, turning back Wellesley’s Royall Switzler, who had a strong lawn sign showing at the very least.

On ballot questions, Wellesley voted No on repealing state and alcohol taxes, though statewide voters choose to nix the booze tax.

Wellesley had a strong showing at the polls, with a 75% voter turnout.
