The new Wellesley High School might really need to open early in order for current principal Andrew Keough to get to enjoy it.
He informed Wellesley High parents this week through a letter that he is one of three finalists for the principal/superintendent’s job at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. He said the main attraction is getting to become a superintendent while also maintaining interaction with students and teachers.
Keough, who took his current job in 2007 after being Medfield High School’s principal, wrote that he has not applied anywhere else and stressed that getting the job is not a sure thing. A decision is expected to come from Lincoln-Sudbury next month.
“This announcement should not be viewed as a negative reflection on my time here in Wellesley, which has been nothing short of outstanding,” he wrote.
Wellesley’s previous high school principal, Rena Mirken, held the job for 11 years.
