Wellesley trading Blockbuster Video for a bank

February 16, 2011 by Bob Brown

blockbuster video store vacant in wellesley

We hear that a bank (probably First Republic Bank, based in San Francisco) will be moving into the space at 284 Washington St., in Wellesley Hills that had been occupied by Blockbuster Video until late last year.

Who knows, maybe they’ll even have some leftover copies of Wall Street, Other People’s Money or other classic banking movies from the Blockbuster archives?

Meanwhile, we reported recently that First Commons Bank would be branching out from Newton to Wellesley’s Linden Square by midyear.
