UPDATE: Results of the competition here. While Wellesley’s band didn’t get a top 3 finish, the band played well and individual members won honors. One parent described the festival as “an amazing event, great for the kids and a once in a lifetime experience. Full results here. Also, the webcast of the event is supposed to be on the Essentially Ellington website all week.
Wellesley High School’s 2 O’Clock Jazz Band performed Friday at the Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival at New York’s Lincoln Center Rose Theater and you can view a live webcast Saturday at 4pm to see if the band’s performance earned it a top 3 finish.
Separately, the Varsity Girls concert originally scheduled for Linden Square this Sunday has been pushed to June 18 at 3pm, along with other activities, including Zumba/yoga/modeling.
