* Wellesley Town Hall’s front lawn is getting a bit greener, as the old paved path has been dug up and is being seeded over.
*Wellesley High School students are putting pressure on the administration to move to a dual-stream recycling system they argue is more environmentally friendly than the single-stream system in use today that school administrators say is a good fit given the school’s cramped space. The students say of the current system: “The Wellesley Public School System is taking a financially wasteful, environmentally polluting, and uneducational step backwards by using single stream recycling instead of dual stream recycling.” If you agree, here’s the online petition the students have posted and more information on the situation.
*With Wellesley College celebrating commencement last week, students are moving out. But the school has taken steps to ensure a bunch of stuff doesn’t just get tossed. Its Sustainable Move-Out program donates some items to charitable organizations and then resells other items, from clothes hangers to dorm fridges, to students in the fall.
