From the Wellesley Police Department:
Night work will begin tonight, June 13, from 9PM to 5AM on the Cedar Street and Route 9 bridge project. Work is expected to focus on the off ramps and approaches to the bridge itself over Route 9. The night work is expected to last all of this week, and possibly next week.
Citizens traveling on both Route 9 and Cedar Street during the evening and early morning hours should expect traffic delays approaching the area. While traffic volume is usually light during these hours, there may be some backup on the east and westbound sides of Route 9. Please plan accordingly and expect some delays.
There will be several Wellesley Police officers on the scene during the construction work directing traffic. Any significant changes or delays will be sent out via the Wellesley Police Department’s Community Notification Service and posted on this website.
The Cedar Street bridge will be replaced completely during the July 4th holiday weekend. More information will be posted at a future date with regards to shutdowns and detours that weekend.
