Wellesley Public School superintendent Bella Wong has notified families with kids that the School Department is considering a shift from the current half-and-full kindergarten mix to full-day kindergarten. Since so many Wellesley youngsters already have full-time jobs by the age of 3 or 4, this shouldn’t faze most of them, we imagine.
Wong cited research that supports academic and social benefits of full-day kindergarten, increased flexibility to schedule specialists, more time to get through a fuller curriculum, etc.
A parent forum will be held Nov. 16 at 7pm at Sprague School Library.

Also, expectations are that high school enrollment will rise in coming years in part because parents are going to pull kids out of private schools to take advantage of the new school building.
