The Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC) has approved an outdoor ice skating rink at Hunnewell Field from Dec. 15-March 15, subject to weather. The rink would be around the size of the outfield at the softball diamond near the tennis courts on Washington Street.
Details on daily maintenance and cost/funding remain to be firmed up. The Wellesley Recreation Department plans to set up the rink and the fire department has volunteered to keep it filled with water/ice.
