The Swellesley Report can now also be found on Google+, the search giant’s newish social media service and would-be Facebook killer. Exactly what we’re going to use our Google+ page for that we don’t already do on our website, Facebook page or Twitter….not sure yet. Google has only started to let businesses and brands use Google+ (I guess we’re a brand).
I’ve been an early user of Google+ for work purposes and it does have some good features, including very easy-to-use video chats called Hangouts. Google+ seems to have been populated early on mainly by social media maniacs. Heavy users have touted the stellar conversations and lamented the lack of real friends on the site. Why people who are heavily invested in Facebook would make the switch? Still to be determined. Some say Google+ has better privacy controls than Facebook. Then again, Google is integrating Google+ with its other products such as its Picassa photo sharing service, Google Reader RSS reader and more, whether you like it or not.
Anyway, figured it couldn’t hurt to dive in. Feel free to “circle” our site…circling is Google’s version of friending or liking or following. Also, hit that little +1 button on our Google+ page and on the right-hand side of this page to let the world know that you can’t live without The Swellesley Report. That’s how this game is played. Supposedly it will help our page show up higher on Google search results, etc. Open to other ideas regarding Google+.
