UPDATE Monday night: Wellesley Police issued the following update:
UPDATE Monday afternoon: Later reports said the suspect was armed but that he was also thought to be out of the Edmunds Road area by late afternoon. Police scoped out the area by foot, car and helicopter. Neighbors spoke to the Townsman about their concerns. Channel 5 had its news copter high above the scene and produced this video report on the incident, as did NECN and Channel 7, as seen here.

The Wellesley Police Department is investigating a sexual assault which occurred on Edmunds Road. The suspect fled on foot and is described as a black male with very little hair wearing all black clothing and blue gloves. This is an active incident and no additional information is available at this time. The State police K9 and airwing are assisting in the search. If you see someone fitting the description of the suspect, DO NOT APPROACH THEM and call 911 immediately.
