Wellesley’s David Dew sent us these fine shots of a bald eagle soaring over Reeds Pond that he took after his son Evan, and friend Chris Gentes, spotted the bird.

As David mentions, the Boston Globe just published a story about the bald eagle count in Massachusetts being way down, though bad weather interfered with the survey.

Maybe this bald eagle was looking for the eagle that used to watch over the old Wellesley High School?
