I stopped by The Linden Street Barber Shop at 153 Linden St., earlier this week to give the newest barber in town, J.S. Kim, an opportunity to snip my flowing locks (that’s not me above).
The shop has a clean, modern look (including a TV, magazines and WiFi access for those waiting), with a few old timey decorations to keep something of a connection with Larry’s Barber Shop, which occupied the space for many years until August. In a first for me, Kim introduced himself and asked for my name when I first sat down.
Kim says he used to cut hair in Natick and before that, upstate New York, where he said his record for haircuts in a day was 44. He says 20-25 is a much more reasonable number. Kim charges $16 for a regular cut and does a nice job, tidying things up with a straight-edge razor.
The barber says so far so good with the business, noting strong foot and car traffic.
